Rural Development & Programmes is a small section within the Economic Development service of the East Riding of Yorkshire Council. The section forms part of the dedicated rural section, Rural Policy and Partnerships, that recognises the unique development opportunities within the rural areas that cover the East Riding.
Rural Development & Programmes have successfully delivered a number of innovative programmes including the LEADER+ programme 2002 – 2008, the COMBINE Rural Enterprise and Development project, the LANGELED Rural Development Fund and now the RDPE LEADER Coast, Wolds, Wetlands & Waterways programme 2008 – 2013. In addition, the Rural Policy and Partnerships section has successfully delivered the Humber Rural Pathfinder initiative alongside a Modernising Rural delivery programme.
